years ago as a child i fed all my breeding females pinkie mice. it wasnt very often and it seem to have no negative effect from what i see. i always thought of it as a steak dinner for them lol. the only thing i feed my leopards now is meal worms, wax worms, dubia, crickets ect...

Most reptiles DO eat mammals- snakes, various other lizards... although the lizards are in the wild. I heard feeding pinkies makes leos very aggressive. I suggest not to.

I think you hit the nail on the head when you stated that leopard geckos are insectivors, but opportunistic hunters. How often would a gecko stumble upon an unattended mouse nest? Probably not often.

If it's the difference between life and death, go for it, but on a normal basis, it shouldn't be part of their diet.

I wouldn't mind if some of you guys put your comments on the site so the author can see them (I'll direct her here too). Nice discussion, keep it up.
