Geckos walking on tables

Greetings,

Just a simple question. Is it safe to allow our geckos to walk on the top of a regular office table? Will they fall or realize when they reach the end that they can't go any further?

I have had iguanas and they would never fall, but have some snakes and those do fall. How do geckos behave in such situations?

Thanks in advance for the advice!

Well after having one Leo, now named Houdini, escape from his lid and screened tub twice, and having found him on the floor... I can say they seem to have no problem walking off edges if left to their own devices lol.

Id say no. If your going to have your leo out have it in a safe enclosed area that will make it easy for you to control their movments. A bed with some blankets around the edges(make a blanket wall) is what i normaly do. Just dont take your eye of the animal.

For example iguanas will stay on our shoulders resting if we're like working on the computer. Geckos will never stay still like that right?

well i think it all depends on the animal, some iguanas may be more active then others, some leos are very calm and not to adventurous but we still just need to take basic purcautions.

Leopard geckos have terrible depth perception.
They could run right off and hurt themselves.

Hmm. Well I've only had one Leo in my life, but my Nova is really good at not falling off tables or my shoulder lol. She just likes to stick by me. I always know where she is but if I'm just at the computer, she will crawl on my shoulders and up and down my shirt and usually doesn't venture too far. As far as tables go, she always seems to stop, ponder the option of walking off the end of the table, then turn around and come back to me. If I put her on my shoulder and walk around the house she will stay there. So I guess it just depends on the gecko :)
