Oh lord what have I done!! LOL!!!!!

I like the name RAPTOR. Its catchy. Now APTOR I could really careless for.

To even further propel this discussion. Where does the patternless aspect of the APTOR/RAPTOR come in? Is it a seperate gene or does it come from the Murphy Patternless (leucistic)?

Tremper's patternless is a line-bred trait, unlike the murphy patternless which is a single gene, recessive mutation.

In the case of Tremper's "patternless" it typically only affects body pattern of the gecko, where head and tail pattern can be retained.

Another unfortunate term used in leopard gecko morph talk is "patternless". Murphy's patternless geckos are born with a faint beige/yellow blotched pattern that eventually fades so the adults are truly "patternless". The "patternless" we're talking about here, as in "patternless stripe" is the result of a stripe and a reverse stripe that kind of cancel each other out. The best ones have little or no color on their bodies but some do have a few colored blotches. To make things even more complicated, I've found that these so-called "patternless stripes" can get spottier as they mature, but are frequently still called "patternless".

That is why I don't really put much weight on "Patternless Stripe" being a necessary component in a RAPTOR. As far as I'm concerned a Tremper Eclipse is a RAPTOR, the rest is just marketing. For anyone who disagrees, I have an Abyssinian I can sell you... :main_laugh:

There are alot of Leo morphs that just don't interest me. Like all the snow stuff. They just don't do anything for me.

You're not the only one. I personally think it turns the albino genes ugly, particularly the mack super snow in either albino line; they all look the same - dark tan and white-gray.

I'm looking forward to see what my mack trempers end up looking like. I've had snow/tang crosses that were ugly gray yellow and then when I switched males, I got a bunch with nice lemon yellow coloring, so to some extent I think it depends on the genetics of the snow gecko.

Or you could just do like me and get a girlfriend already into genetics(corn snakes) haha :)

Did that, that was a little over 4 years ago and oddly wound up being the primary subject on our first date. She's a microbiologist, but I tell her she's not a real biologist, like I, because she doesn't know some of the standard general bio stuff outside of her micro degree. :D
