Getting a LP!!!!!

SO I'm buying a Leopard Gecko this coming Monday due to school being out and I'll have time. So I'm looking @ tanks. I do have a limited amount of money I can spend. I've narrowed it down to like 3 tanks, or build my own. Here are the three:

1. #1
2. #2
3. #3

So I will buy one of these if I can, but I have a tub in my basement that is as big if not bigger than the crappy plastic ones. I used to have a 20gallon tank we kept fish in but my mom gave it to our neighbors so there is no getting that back. I was looking at all glass 10 & 20 gallon tanks and none of them are cheap. I remember a 20g was like $50 for the tank only. I'd like that but IDK if I can find one. I might just use my tub while I make a bigger tank for him/her, but id making a tank w/ glass from Home Depot that hard? And what are the dimensions of a 20g? Sorry for the long read.

you can buy ten gallon tanks at walmart for $10 and then buy a ten gallon screen lid for it. thats the most economical value :)

(just the tank, not the aquarium sets)

Oh and on a side note every one of those tanks you posted arnt very good. the last 2 give too much air and the 1st, those things look big online, but their really itty bitty. And plastic.

not sure on too much air, but I suspect too much heat loss and lack of moisture control.

then again I have a leo for 4 days now. LOL

Does anyone have the dimensions of a 10/20g tank that I could make out of plexiglass? and would a UTH work on the plexiglass(lexan actually) or should the bottom be made out of true glass.

20 long is 12" x 12 "x 30" I would be concerned about plexi with the heat I bought a 20 long for 26 bux. LPS is good for cheap prices on tanks

A 10-20 gallon with a screen lid is fine. You dont need anything special, leos dont need high hummidity or anything. You will need an UTH(under tank heater) which is best for heating leos.

Petsmart sells 20 gallon long tanks for $25. The screen top is around $13 more. One thing to remember if you shop at Petsmart - look at the fish section for the tanks instead of the reptile section. The 20 longs with lids in the reptile section are usually at least $20 more for the exact same thing.

I purchased the exo-terra (#3 in your list) 18 (H) x 18 (D) x 24 (L) and I really like it. I don't thinnk I've ever seen an image of one on the product sites? They always show the tall version. It was very expensive but it will be my only NICE leo display case.

The front doors are great for easy access to the viv contents. I don't think I've ever opened the top screen...I'm not crazy about the foam background as it creates gaps that allow the crickets to hide in. I've plugged them with wet paper towel for now. The crickets climb the foam background with ease while the leos get neck cramps watching the show....:main_laugh:
When the crickets get tired they start to fall off the foam and the leos are usually there waiting for them. :main_laugh:

I'm working on a raised level to make use of the upper space.

I'm gonna take a trip to walmart before work today and look at the prices. I have looked in my local Petsmart/Petco and they have great looking leos and only babies kept together on repti-carpet so I trust they have good normal gecko babies.

you can also get 29long aquariums for around 25 dollars at petsmart. They in th fish section. The ones they sell in the reptile section are more expensive but come with a sliding lid. If you buy the two separately for around 30-25, plus UTH of course but still better than the ones you've listed.
