Getting another Gecko

I'm not sure if this is the proper section but I thought this would be the best place.

I have a juvenile male Leopard Gecko. He's healthy and I was thinking of getting him a mate along with a 20g tank.

I have two questions though, becasue up to this point I've been focused on owning a single Gecko.

1. Would a size difference matter? If so how much (I drought I can get a Leo of the exact same size).

2. Is housing two juveniles together a bad idea or is it okay?

Well, you can't get another male... they will fight. And if you get a female, then you run the risk of reproduction.

But to answer your questions.... no, size won't matter as long as you get a female. And two juvies together is perfectly fine.

I know not to get two males. It's on every care sheet and booklet I've ever seen for reptiles (thanks though, and I'm sorry if I sounded like a jerk_. I'm not worried about reproduction and I'm going to do my homework on that, but I think I should hold off a bit until they reach the age that they can reproduce.

Once I had two juvie leos. One was bigger than the other, and sometimes teased it. Then one day, I came to their enclosure to find a very injured little leopard gecko.
It died 9 hours later.

I would say if you are adamant on getting another gecko, get something to divide the tank if you don't want to spend the money on another tank/setup. But believe it or not, geckos are perfectly fine being solitary.

I would like to breed, so I'd like two. I want my Gecko(s) to be happy, and a 10g looks a little small to me (that's why I'm getting a 20g L).

for the size diffrece it kinda does matter if you have a bigger gecko it will intimidate the smaller one and thus would be starving its self i had this happen with a few leos befor cuz i thought the same thing that females would be fine together which is the usal case if they are the same size or very close to the same size

I'm sorry, I've never had this happen to me. I have a juvie now housed with a full grown (both females) and nothing is wrong. Of course, the full grown is as sweet as can be so.... I guess it depends on the gecko??? I don't want to hand out any misleading info here.

you should only house same sized geckos together. you have gotten lucky your adult has not injured or bullied your juvi. i would be willing to bet your juvi might be growing slower than average because of the adult leo presence. it doesnt matter how sweet of a gecko it is, when it comes to instinct and survival and territorial issues they can do harm

Well, now that I think about it, my adult only eats mealworms, and the juvie only eats crickets....

Either way I'm going to try to get the female as close (size wise) to the male as possible. I didn't plan on buying an adult or anything but I wanted to know if a LITTLE size difference would be okay.

Yeah 2 females about the same sizes would be okay my 2 female leos are close to size and they get along very well.

The biggest issue you would run into now, even if you got a female the same size as the male, is that if they're together the male may breed with the female before she's big enough. Consider doing this: since you're thinking of getting a 20long tank anyway, get the new tank, move the male into the bigger tank, get a female to keep in the old 10 gallon tank (you'd have to quarantine her anyway). When the female is at least 9 months and 50 grams, and you're sure that you can get the incubator, proper thermostat, lay boxes, and are ready to house and feed a bunch of babies (one of my first-time geckos laid 20 eggs the first year and they all hatched), put the female in with the male. If you decide that you don't want to breed, you could always leave the male in the 10 gallon and put 2 females in the 20 gallon so you'd have 3 geckos for your enjoyment.
