So, I've had him, or her, since December 4th. It was very healthly looking when I bought em (Petco..) but not has lost a lot of weight. I put pinhead crickets in there and they always dissapear. They're not escaping & I'm 99.9% they're not getting eatin. The other week I noticed his tummy looked bloated on his thin self and checked his mealie bowl and he ate one, then another the next day, another the next day, and that was all. I put mealies infront of him, nothing. He just doesn't seem to care. I'm worried about my little guy! :main_huh: His temps are fine. All he seems to care about is sleeping on his slate.

Theyve got to be going somewhere.
Maybe he eats them when youre not around?
Pinheads are very small, I would get a larger size.

Currently, cool side is 75.1, hot side is 89.3. I have a black bulb over his sceen on the top of the cage that is inbetween the cool side and hot side. He has a moist hide that he never uses with moss as the substrate. His substrate is slate & coco coir. It was sand, when I first posted, but I ditched that a day later. The coco coir is used between the slate and bottom of tank and between cracks. It's a Tetrafauna - very similair to the Exo Terra tanks.
I think the large crickets would be too big for these little guys? No?

Also, would it be safe to put the uth inbetween the slate & bottom of the glass to raise the temperature? Or would this be too risky?

I'll get a picture of him soon. He is pooping & it looks normal to my eye. I'll have to grab him some bigger crickets tonight while I'm out.

if he is pooping he is eating..
so you have1 of 2problems..

your not feeding him enough
or
he has a internal parasite taking all the nutrition.
i STRONGLY reccomend taking a fecal sample to a vet.. a fecal smear is under 20.00 if you call around

I think this might be risky. Usually the UTH are only placed under the tank, and there is some air circulation. Between slate and glass may cause a problem. I would wait, and see what other members on this forum have to say.:main_huh:
