Hey all, I'm Meg, and it seems, the oldest of the bunch! Mid-40s is all I'm saying. I work nights at a newspaper doing layout and design on computers. But my true love is animals, especially reptiles. When I had my kids I gave up alot my collection, which included a Savannah monitor, 2 albino corns and 4 black rat snakes. (Corn snakes are super-sweet Tanner!)

Now my kids are in high school, and the reptiles are creeping back. I recently fell in love with geckos when my best friend gave me 3 normal morphs that she couldn't keep. They turned out to be het for Blizzard and I raised several last year. This year I've got 13 adults, only 10 of which I plan to breed, but I should have some great morphs in a year or two. I studied zoology in college, and genetics was a particular favorite. I also breed parakeets and mice.

Hi guys - my name is Kelly. I'm a software developer working in upstate NY. Besides programming (hobby, profession, and sickness all in one) I'm also really into electronics and of course reptiles. I have five geckos at the moment and have a deposit down on an extreme giant tegu for this summer.

I don't have a ton of time for gaming lately but I'm a bit obsessed with skyrim and minecraft. In my free time I'm working on a habitat control system / monitoring and data logger for reptiles - partially as a pet project, partially for a future side business.

Have you used any of the control systems that are available, like Herpkeeper or Ecozone?

I have not - it is funny I searched for ages couldn't find anything like that - thanks. My googling skills have apparently failed me horribly.

My idea is definitely similar to what they are doing, will probably continue with the project as it is different enough, and I'm having a ton of fun building it. If history is any indication my short attention span will probably be a much more pressing problem than the competition :D

That is awesome, if you have a passion for it programming is a fantastic field. I mostly program in C# as well. (I can't live without linq so I never seem to stray too far from .net lately). I do a lot of web development (finance & insurance products) so the type of work is obviously quite a bit different. I'm Learning 3d modeling now and playing a bit with gaming on blender - but haven't done much game programming to date unfortunately.

If you do ever have programming questions feel free to bug me, never far from visual studio so it isn't a bother. My one piece of advice is to never stop programming for fun. Depending on the classes CS programs can suck some of the joy out of programming through sheer repetition - it is always good to have a project to keep you sharp, and remind you why you love programming in the first place.
