So it's just a really big gecko? It was sick for awhile Than went though a growth spurt ,going from 12gms to 35gms in 5weeks,I've only had it for 3mo.when bought the little leo didn't have spots yet and was told it was about 2-3 mos old.Wonder what it will look like in 3mos.

Im not even sure if Yoshi is giant and he would probably dwarf urs :) He's atleast 10inches long and was 100g+ last time we weighed him and hes grown since then.

Kinda creepy on a night when ur watching TV and this big yellow head appears and sits staring at u :main_laugh:

To be a giant it needs to be around 80g. Linage is important too.

Agreed...for the most part.

I've said it before and I will say it again...Lineage is everything when it comes to giants!

I know a member on this site that has a gecko who weighs nearly 170 grams and is somewhere near 11 inches long, but isn't a "giant" because it's parents were not giants.

"Giant" is co-dominant. Giants are SUPPOSED to be over a certain weight, and SUPPOSED to be over a certain legnth, however, we all know that mother nature and the genetics gods like to play games with us sometimes, so every giant isn't going to always meet the "standards" of a giant.

There is no way you will ever know for sure unless you know the exact lineage of mom and dad. So any "yes" or "no" answer that is posted by anybody is merely a guess unless you bred the parents.

The reptile store we got Yoshi from breed their leos and told me they knew 1 of Yoshi's parents were giant, but then they said Freya was a jungle when she clearly isnt :main_rolleyes:

Ive read before that giants are more docile and easily tamed than normal and for that Yoshi definitly doesnt follow.

Hes bit me before and is agressive if you spray him with a water bottle, he actually ran at me with what looked like intent to bite my face off :main_laugh:

Well, you would be aggressive, too, if someone hosed you off! Leopard geckos are not supposed to be "sprayed with a water bottle." If they have major shedding issues, they can get a bath, or a rub with a wet q-tip on their toe tips, but otherwise they don't need that much moisture. All they need is their moist hide. ;)

Yeah i know what u mean but sometimes they wont go in the moist hide :main_rolleyes:

Yoshi rarely goes in his and then gets stuck shed on his belly that is not fun to get off :main_no:
