Ugh. I am just so frustrated. So since the end of November the temps in my tanks have been difficult to maintain. Tiamat's was pretty stable for a while and she was eating regularly. Mandarin's however has been up and down. I've been trying to keep it around 93-95 but it's been as high as 97 and as low as 85. Mandarin has stopped eating but spends most of her time in her cool hide anyway, so I think she's brumating. :\ I can't seem to get it over 93 now. I'm a little concerned as she hasn't eaten in a month and this is not like her as she's usually my little piggy. I weighed her this weekend however and she was still a hefty 87g, so she doesn't appear to be losing weight.
These temperatures are a result of my in-laws using the laundry room as a cool room for the food for my mother-in-law's open house. The entire basement is now at least five or more degrees colder because of this. Even with the door to the laundry room closed and towels pushed against the bottom of the door. Every time the door is opened a rush of cold air comes into the rest of the basement.
Also, thanks to two consecutive power outages lasting four hours or more (I used handwarmers as we all as my own hands to keep my leos warm) the temperatures are even more unpredictable. Both power outages happened during -10 weather. The basement became very cold, very fast.
Now both leos have stopped eating - although Mandarin showed some interest today but may just be bored of supers. I intend on getting Mandy some crickets to see if she'll eat those. Tiamat hasn't eaten in about a week. I feel confident that once things become more stable, they will begin to eat again.
What's worse is we are getting ready to move which will make them both go even more off feed. I also wanted to put Mandarin in Tiamat's tank or would this be too much stress in too short a time? Mandarin is very laid back however, and this may be more stressful to Tiamat than to her, I think. What do you guys think?
