I didnt use the word "giant" because I understand that "giants" are a genetic co-dom morph....but this guy has really grown huge fast! He is already 105 grams and only about 7 months old (not to mention his awesome head color and pattern)....I got him from Jason Haygood a while back and although everything I have gotten from him has done fantastic...this one you can almost watch grow before your eyes! I was just wondering if anyone else has any Raptors that have grown this large this quick or just if anyone has any really large Raptors in general?.....

We have two big raptor girls, but no where near 105g's... We do have some monsters in other morphs though! We have a 107g SHTCTB "Apollo"... he was full grown in 5 months... :)

Mike I have a female, at 7 months is 79 grams. Not as big as yours, lol thats a nice chunk of RAPTOR. I also got a male from Jason that I am hoping will get very large...to put with my large female..to make super large babies lol! Let me know how that one turns out Mike, I am interested. BTW I think RT bred RAPTOR with giants somewere along the lines...or so I heard probably were these big RAPTors are coming from. I likum I am a giant fan!

WOW, Mike! I think Goliath is an appropriate name for this guy! I don't have anything quite a big, but I must say that all the geckos I have received from Jason have been exceptionally 'robust' and savage eaters!

lol...no steroids here...in fact, i feed only mealworms to him....I can't imagine what would happen if I gave him even ocassional supers!....

I have noticed the same thing about Jason's animals Marcia.....awesome appetites!....and definetly "robust"!

Wow! GKO (Christine and Phil)...107g SHTCTB is a beast too!....especially full grown in 5 months!

I had also heard from somewhere that Ron had introduced giants into the raptor line at one time Chris...but I didnt hear it from Ron himself so who knows.

Well when i talked to Jason at Daytona, i bought a solid red eye raptor male from him and he said his Raptor male is 112grams! Maybe he got the size from his daddy if its the same father.

I had a male (would rahter not say what breeder it was from) that never went below 110 when breeding and was not "by genetic onfirmation" a giant, I also had an old male that I gave away several years ago that was a maybe high yellow at best that never went below 108 during breeding.

So I can't help you on your question but I do know that "giant" sizes may exist from non confirmed giant lines.

But iwth both of mine the total body and tail were in proportion, the tail was at least 1.5 times the size of the widest part of the body which mase them proportional for their total length and size.

Yours is a has a large body mass with an honestly below average tail size for that body width.

He's looking great, Mike! His father is up to 124 grams now, but it took him over a year to break 100 grams, so it will be interesting to see how big this guy gets.

I would love to have any gecko that's over 100 grams. That gecko looks great! Hopefully I can pick one up at the NARBC Show in Orland.

Great looking beast Mike!!

Wendy, I do believe that this animal is healthy. Remember it is only 7 months old. It hasn't really started to store fat reserves in its tail yet.
