Good idea? Or No?

Well I think my Stogey is actually a female... Unless he’s one of those late bloomers & he will eventually get his male parts =P

Anyways, a friend of mine takes excellent care of his gecko who is a male. Say if we decided to breed them (after hours of research which I have been doing since day one & will continue to do) would it be OK to test & see if they’re OK with each other first, but then breed them later? I mean, lots of people say to keep their geckos quarantined for a few months, & considering we live in separate houses, this could technically be quarantining, couldn’t it? For those of you who don’t understand my question, as it isn’t quite worded the best, I am asking "Would it be OK for my friend & I to breed our geckos, then remove them from the shared tank & put them back in their original homes?"

By the way, I was figuring maybe starting in a year or two, I just want to know now. I know my gecko is too young as of yet, but time will age him, as it does us all.

I was considering doing this at some point. THis is what I would do: move the loaner gecko to the house where the geckos will be introduced. Quarantine the loaner gecko for 1 month. Introduce the geckos and use whatever protocol you have for breeding (I leave my males and females together for the whole season, but other people do it differently). Either return the geckos to their respective homes or keep them together for the season. Use your discretion about whether to quarantine geckos again (if either household has other geckos) after returning them to their homes.

Thanks for all the input! I think my gecko would be staying with me... so the other one would be coming for a visit. Considering mine's the girl & I'd like to keep the moving of her down to as little as possible.
