good or bad pair?

You have to think twice about breeding Enigmas. Even if the parent doesn't show any Enigma syndrome, you might hatch babies that have "head wobblies," bad aim, balance problems, "star gazing," etc., or even die when trying to come out of the egg.

If your animal is really beautiful, has no syndrome, and you want to keep the hatchlings because you like them, go for it. Only 50% of them will be Enigmas, anyway; the rest will be Trempers, some Raptors. If you want to sell the Enigmas, you need to consider that many people went out of Enigmas (I did, too), and it might be difficult to sell them. If you hatch the "disabled" ones, you can only cull them if it's very bad, or adopt them out as "pet only."

Personally, I sold/adopted out all my Enigmas except for three pets (one super pretty Rainwater Enigma, one Red Stripe Enigma, and one very orange Bell Enigma). I don't want to breed them anymore. I had too many babies with a very bad syndrome, and some infant death. It's a heartbreak every time, and consumes a lot of your spare time due to hand-feeding. Some bite off their own tails thinking it's food; I had that happen, too.

In the end, it's your decision. They ARE beautiful. If you want a quite far-fetched comparison: what if you had a hereditary disease that MIGHT be transmitted to your children. Would you risk it, anyway, and bring children into the world just because you might have normal ones? Nobody can forbid you to do it, and you might have beautiful normal children (and beautiful disabled ones), but you bear the consequences, financially and psychologically.

With that said, been there, done it, and I loved my Enigmas. I was sorry for the ones that had a rough time, and I'm not breeding Enigmas anymore.

Whatever you decide, good luck with your projects! :main_yes:

Very well said. With all the beautiful morphs out there and the W/Y, I dont understand why anyone is breeding the enigma. Seems too risky for the animal. Your right though, they are beautiful.

Well, the White & Yellow is still too expensive for the average hobbyist. I would suggest the OP get a nice Raptor female, maybe Snow Raptor or a Reverse Stripe, to get nice Raptor and Snow Raptor babies. After making money off these, maybe he can buy a W/Y ;)

By the way, if it concerns the Enigma in the avatar, that is a REALLY beautiful example. I wouldn't risk her health through breeding, anyway...

I would argue that not EVERYONE is avoiding enigmas lol. I purchased a gorgeous Tangerine Enigma a few months ago, and I wouldnt change her for any w/y.

Sounds like a good pair to me. The Enigma debate has good points, but of course it's up to each individual. We didn't give up on Enigmas since we've gotten mostly Enigmas without symptoms. Now if and when we do, we sell them at reduced prices as pet only.

IMHO, the W/Y's don't look very different from babies we produced in the past from Albey's Line Bred Snow. Course, the W/Y's are not Snow at all, it's just uncanny to me how their traits are very similar to some of the non-snows we produced:

Course, ours has less color. I've seen W/Y's that are simply amazing; so while we have not gotten any W/Y yet, maybe some day we will.

Everyone has their own taste. Id' say find what you're most passionate about and go for it :)

It's hard to compare the w&y's to the animal pictured here, mainly because a lot of w&y's vary, some looking nothing like the animal pictured, also the crosses are and combos are simply amazing!

That's true, I've seen many that look nothing like the gecko above, but also several that are so similar it just blew me away. There's definitely amazing stuff out there :main_yes:
