The earlier you introduce different kinds of food, the better off you are at establishing a staple diet for them. Many of my adult geckos will eat only crickets, which means I have to be extra diligent to keep their cages clean of feces. Contrary to what you have read, crickets can be great staple foods for Geckos, but often times they require a larger number due to the high water volume of crickets. However, the water content also serves to keep them well hydrated as can be evidenced by their white nitrate on their stool (Less hydrated geckos tend to have a little yellow mixed in). As for any worries about lack of vitamins, there is something called herpicite that is available at all Petsmarts, Petco's, etc. It is a full multivitamin powder that you can apply to your gecko's food once a week to increase the nutrition of its food.
As for Dubias! They are the best feeders I have ever used, but because of their price they are best made for people who can breed and keep their own continuous supply. Most human females will be very disgusted by their presence and will fail to understand any logic you try to give them about housing a massive colony of roaches in their pristine clean homes.
