Green Leopard Gecko

No, it was a fully grown adult. It might have been a genetic anomaly. It died of hepatic lipidosis (a disease where fat mobilized to the liver and it causes loss of function), which is rare in reptiles, I imagine especially rare in leopard geckos since they can survive off the fat in their tails for some time.

skin color being yellow green is a common side effect of liver failure. DING! i win.

Even in reptiles? In mammals I would agree, especially the mucus membranes. I guess it is possible, but we certainly never covered that in my class. It was an adult when he got it, so I guess it is plausible.

I don't think so now. Spent two hours researching it. Lol. Too bad there are no pix and it's dead. At least my purple gecko is still alive. Even if she is assumed sterile.

Oh well. I will just take it as a green headed leopard gecko. ***I know some of you don't believe it was a leopard gecko, but it was, and a necropsy was performed by a herp vet, and I don't believe he would mistake a leopard gecko.

Now he is saying it was green on the head right? I think I may know what h is talking about. My lighter colored leopard geckos, esp baby's to juvs have this light greenish blue hue on the top of thier heads. Where the eyes are. It may be from the eyes. Esp when they have thinner skin above thier eye lids.
