Green?

I did a couple of "green" crosses this year. It's be alot of fun to watch them develop. I have noticed that the green has faded on several of them around 40+ grams.

Any tips for getting them to hold the color better in subsequent generations?

The only suggestion I have is to only breed the ones that held the color the longest. Hopefully as they progress it will only continue to increase how long they hold their colors.

line breeding is they key yes BUT look at the babies with the most lavender color, generally these ones will turn out greener. just keep an eye on those babies

Thanks guys. Nice Steve...I think I'll have to forgo the polyurethane for the time being...lol

I wasn't sure if adding a quality tang or lavendar stripe to the mix would help. Or if green x green would produce the most consistant results. They were mostly stripes this year, so there really wasn't much variation until about 20 grams. It's been tough to call though...some have really surprised me by the time they hit adult size.

some green early and lose it, some will be lavender as babies and gain the green a bit later. seems sometimes its a hot and miss. if you get a lavender stripe get one with a DARK lavender stripe and pair it up with a very bright orange tang.

also try to stay away from the super hypo ct baldy type of things. bright orange with head spots and even some body spots are ok. also look for a gecko with more than one hue of orange.
