I just had to update on this project.

My goal with this project is to create a gecko with at least a 90% carrot-tail, a solid red line in the middle of the boldstrips, nice lavender or purple boldstrips, and a nice orange carrot-head. I think I did alright with my F1s. Here are my three holdback females.

This female really is much better in person. The center of the strips is a really orange color that for some reason or another I cannot get to show on the camera. I’m really excited about breeding her next season!

This female is a really nice orange, she doesn’t have much of a boldstrip, but she’s a pretty nice rainwater hybino, and when breed back to her dad (boldstrip, het rainwater) should produce some nice offspring.

This female is a kidda boldstrip, 66% het rainwater. I hope to prove her out next season, and make some phenomenal babies.

Thanks, for looking!

Nick those are some nice rw stripes. What are the parents of that last female? She's really cool looking. Not a "bold stripe" by black pigment, but maybe a "green bold stripe"? :) She has a really cool look-sort of like a stripe and no stripe at the same time.

They are all three from the same parents:

Dad: Boldstrip, het Rainwater:

Mom: Tangerine, het Rainwater:

I was really surprised at how much of a boldstrip some of these geckos have, considering that dad is only an okay boldstrip, and as far as I now the mom doesn’t have any boldstrip linage. No complaints here though.

Next year I plan on purchasing both an R2 line boldstrip and a JMG lavender strip to outcross the dad with, and a Tangerine male form Gecko Genetics to outcross the mom with.
