Hi I recently got a leopard gecko and was wondering if there is such a thing of over handling, plus do they need peace n quiet or are they not bothered of day noises. Thanks

Some leopard geckos hate to be handled and always will. Some don't mind it and even appear to like it and some tolerate it well enough. If you have a young juvenile, it's conditioned to hide and may not want to be handled much. If you find that after a certain amount of handling, the gecko seems to be stressed and is struggling more than it was before, that's a sign that it's too much for them. As time goes by, you and your gecko will hopefully reach a happy medium about it. I keep my geckos in the living room and dining room and don't change my activities so as not to disturb them. My oldest gecko is 18 1/2 and seems fine with all this, as do the others.

If they tolerate it, I like to hold them. Not all the time but occasionally! A peaceful and quiet home is a good foundation for basic care.
