Handling

Started working with Gigi to get her used to being handled this morning. She actually walked quickly over my hand, took a few licks, and generally tolerated me! Over the last few weeks, when I take out her food dish or something like that, she jumps at me from in her hide. None of that when it was just my hand in the tank. Do you think she's playing when she jumps, or is she mad at me for messing with her stuff?

She may be hungry and heading for dinner. I have a few hatchlings who think that my hand is food and leap at me when I put my hand in at feeding time.

I have one a Sub-adult that sometimes when I go in to clean his water he will hiss and strike me. Not all the time, I guess its an attitude thing?
Some of the babies do it too, but I think its more of a Im gonna scare you because they have no idea what you are trying to do.

I have a rescue adult blizzard, who since day 1. hisses, strikes etc...I've never attempted to handle it because of that. It's just one of those gecko's you leave alone, in my opinion.

:main_yes: When mine's hungry, he'll lunge at any movement, including my hand when I wiggle a thumb. If he's full, I can do what I like and he pays me no heed - he watches or climbs on me, but he's not aggressive.
I always feed him if he starts watching my movements too closely, and he always eats a lot. If I try to feed him when he's acting mellow, he's a lot less interested.
