I know that some people keep their hatchlings housed in pairs or groups and some keep them all separate. Assuming that a group has appropriate space and everything else, Do you guys think they grow better when they are together or on their own? Or do you think it matters? Just curious for other peoples opinions.

IMO, definitely on their own. In order to properly monitor a hatchling (how much they are eating, are they having proper bowel movements, etc) it is ideal to have them separate. At least until they are juveniles (assuming you know their sex at that point). A lot of bullying can go on over food. That would be my main concern...getting them off to a proper, non-competitive start.

I start out with clutchmates being kept together. I separate them if a size difference develops or if it seems that one is bullying the other --it's really the size difference that tips me off. I make it a priority to keep hatchlings that are smaller than average separate, but I do sometimes re-pair hatchlings that are the same size but of different clutches. It's really a case with me of balancing needs of individual geckos with the space I have available.

I keep mine separate for the same reasons that Heather lists. Its nice to see everything that one hatchling is doing. I also keep all of my leos separate for that reason.
