He grew an eyelid!

I don't know how this happened, but there is now an eyelid on the hatchling. He/she is up to 13 grams today.

He still has the overbite but it doesn't look as bad. And the tail kink is a little better, too. I had no idea that an eyelid could grow after a month! Is that normal?

It really shocked me. I look at him daily when I feed them and I thought it was looking better. But I didn't notice the new eyelid until today.

That's wonderful, Kristi!! Did it ever have it's eye open before the eyelid regrew?

The eye was almost always open. We saw that he could close it most of the way by using the bottom lid. I kept a close eye on it in the beginning to make sure it wasn't drying out.

That's very encouraging for my hatchling who seems to be missing half of each eyelid. I wonder if the "missing" eyelid could have been inverted (turned inside out) and turned itself the right way once the hatchling got bigger. My hatchling still seems to need to have it's eyelids irrigated with water a few times a day but is doing well, though is still a little young to be eating consistently.

WOW!! That's very amazing, and what great news!

We just noticed that our buble-butt is not only cross-eyed too, but is also missing part of his eyelid.. it's not too bad though.

That's wonderful news! I'm so glad you didn't "cull" this gecko. Looks like he's doing great now.

I'll have to update with new pics again in a week or two. Since he's staying here (and I'm pretty sure it's a he now), I had to give him a name. He is now Franklin.
