I am pretty sure it does not matter what thermostat you use. Here is my question. I am fixing to put up some heat rope i got my thermostat and i ready to begin but...... the temp probe.

Do i need to put it on the rope?

Put it in a one of the enclosures?

Also if i put it in an enclosure does it need to touch the bottom of the enclosure?

Want to make sure i get a proper temp!!!

I put my temp probe on the heat cable then a digital thermometer in several of the tubs to get the temp set correctly

The thermostat's temperature probe should be near or on the surface of the enclosure where your gecko will lie. If you use a rack system, you can put it in the bottom of a "dummy" tub.

The heat rope will be under the tank, correct?

I found it to work better by putting the probe on the cable I then had digital probe thermometer in each level of the rack on the bottom of the tubs to get the temp set to the proper temperature. I dont have room to have a dummy tub mine are all full and i found it easier to remove the tubs if i didnt have to worry about a probe attached inside the tub

cool thanks for the replys was wondering on this. I copied the idea on this post http://www.geckoforums.net/showthread.php?t=22358 while i get my room built. Looks real nice in my room now.

I am looking on what to hold down the rope. I guess i will go borrow or buy a plunge router and cut a groove.
