I'm a new member here and wanted to share a little about myself. At an early age I got into reptiles and aquariums. Probably about 8. I kept all sorts of snakes lizards and fish until I was a teenager and realized most girls are not into things that slither, lol. As an adult I have had various aquariums (including saltwater reef tanks) but no reptiles.
Fast forward to today. I'm in my 50's and have a young grand daughter that wanted to get a small pet. Next thing I know we're bring home a leopard gecko. Totally didn't plan on it, but we were actually at an aquarium shop and someone had come in and dropped it off because they didn't want it anymore. The girl that owns the shop gave me a killer deal because she had to fire her only employee and didn't have space or time to take care of it..
Anyway, I have found myself getting back into terrariums since then. Already upgraded from the (too small) 20 gal. that came with, to a 55 gal. I picked up for free. So now I'm going nuts making it the perfect home for her. ( pretty sure it's a female). I'll definitely be posting pics soon.
Anywho, hello everybody

Congrats on your new gecko! I started about 22 years ago with one gecko and went way overboard. Still have about 25 left, but we're all aging here now!
