Hello everyone I'm new here.

Can someone tell me what the best heating and lighting is to have? I find it somewhat confusing(I haven't got one a leo yet just doing some research before hand) I know I need a heat mat but what other light/heat sources would I need? Could I use a 24 red heat glow bulb ?

Ps please excuse my newbieness

Welcome to GF! You don't need a light; the natural light in the room is sufficient because leos are nocturnal.

I'm sorry but I just have one more question, so All I need is a heat mat? Do I run it 24-7 or could I buy A heat mat and a red bulb that emits heat and use that at night and turn of the heat mat until the morning or is that a no no :main_huh:

There's really no point in doing that. Do you really want to spend more money than you need to? Keeping a heat mat on 24/7 is enough to provide them with sufficient heat. You do want to remember to get a digital thermometer with a probe and put that directly over the heat mat on the substrate though. This way you'll know what temp the gecko is feeling and can make adjustments if it's too hot or too cold
