Hi, my name's Elise, I live in Connecticut, I'm in high school, and I'm new to the forums, and geckos. My mother is not very fond of reptiles, so it took up until now to convince her to get one. If I had it my way, my house would be crawling with snakes and lizards, ahah.

I've had many pets in my life: guinea pigs, hamsters, frogs, birds, a dog, dozens of aquatic pets, and I'm currently left with a crayfish (who I'm very fond of) and my dog. Once my crayfish, who isalready living past the average life expectancy, dies, I'm going to use the tank for a leopard gecko or two.

I already read more websites about them than is needed, but I came here so I can read and ask questions for when I have him/her.

Welcome to the forums and your interest in reptiles. Have you had any thoughts about what you'll do with your gecko if and when you get one when you graduate (especially if your mom isn't into them)?

And yes, I'm going to a relatively close art college, so I'll be commuting until I can possibly rent my own apartment, anyway.
