I cleaned out my geckos cage a couple days ago. He became severely agitated when I was placing him back in. He twisted his body back and forth and squeaked. When I put him down he began to flop around as if in severe pain. This was 2 1/2 days ago. Now he has pretty much finished shedding, but he is just dragging his back legs around. They flop around uselessly. I can't get him to eat. I am going to try tongs. Any suggestions? The vet is beyond my reach right now.

I'm sorry you're having a problem with him. I can't imagine that what you described would have caused a paralysis. At this time, in my opinion, your best bet (if you can't afford a vet) is to make sure he can get to food, even if you have to hold him and feed him yourself. He will either recover, pass away, or you will need to feed him by hand for the rest of his life. I hope he improves.

Please be sure in the future to post in the correct forum. I'm moving this post to the correct forum.

Sorry. I'll watch were I post.

I got him to eat one mealworm coated in calcium powder. My fingers are crossed. I've never had a gecko do this. I'm at a loss. It honestly looks down right uncomfortable if not painful to live this way. Please pray for him and me while I try to make him comfortable.
