Hi guys im a BRAND NEW leo owner and im having some concerns that I need some advice for. I got my girl 2 weeks ago this weekend and suprise-suprise she hasn't eaten. I've read everywhere that a new move, surroundings, ect will stress the little girl out. She was being kept in a "rack system" in tub from the previous owner and I have moved her into a 10g tank. The temps are perfect as I monitor these all day long. She has the 3 hides (hot, moist, cold). I've tried feeding her mealworms, crickets, butterworms, waxworms but she doesn't seem interested. Does anyone have any tips ? And also How long should I wait until I become worried ? :main_huh:

The one thing I see wrong is that you shouldn't handle them right after moving them. Give them to.e to adapt.

She could be ovulating, and the added stress of the move could be putting her off. I would give it some time, and try not to worry. Any weight loss, then I'd worry.

Ya I was reading somewhere online that they stop eating while ovulating. Are there signs to tell if shes ovulating ?

I woke up in the middle of the night lastnight and caught her bite a kingworm (I was SOOOOOOO happy), but then she just spat it out. :main_no: Im hoping thats a good sign though and maybe next time she'll actually swallow it lol.

Maybe shes eating when youre not around? Does she have bowel movements?
If you search pictures of ovulating females, there are lots.

Try not to handle give her some time to settle in I've had new geckos not eat for 4 weeks when I got them and I've had some that eat the very first day they are all different just give her alittle bit more time but make sure that her weight doesn't start dropping

Weird all my geckos even when shipped to me usually eat right away when first offering them mealies.

Are you sure about the temps? And do you leave a little dish or mealworms in there for her at all times? Try doing like 10 mealworms in a dish and leave it in there over night then count them the next day.

I never experienced any of my females NOT eating while ovulating. Usually my females eat like pigs after being bred then stop eating a day or two before laying eggs then eat like pigs again after laying eggs.

One way to tell if she is ovulating is lift her up and look at her belly, if you see a pink little dot with a darker pink ring around it near the middle of her belly, then she is ovulating. Hope this helps.

She's had 2 bowel movements in the 2 weeks i've had her, but i've also been counting EVERYTHING that I tried feeding her.

if she still isnt eating then try taking all food items out n leave her alone for a day or 2, then reintroduce the food, usually works with me.

Ya I've checked the temp with 2 different digital hygrometers. I've left a dish in there for a few days and also tried with the dish removed for a few, still nothing. I'll just have to keep switchin it up and see what happens.

Hmm.
Well I don't think youre doing anything wrong. Have you tried some other types of worms? She may want to eat a wax worm, and that may convince her eat.
