That would be a ''normal'' with MBD... The effects are irreversible... Just make sure your gecko is getting it's food dusted with calcium every couple of feedings...

Thanks for helping I dust her crickets with Rep-Cal phosphorus free calcium with d3 every time i feed and she has calcium in a dish in her tank all the time she eats about 2 crickets every night and a super or 2

:huh2:
she was like this when i got her unfortunately the pet shops here are not that good and the animals are not taken care of her foot was a lot worse when i got her she had a hard time getting a round i had to hand feed her because she could not catch her crickets now she runs all over the tank and enjoys running up my arm to my shoulder and back down my other arm and she actively hunts her crickets

It´s nice to see you are taking good care for her! Sadly the petshop obviously hasn´t done that.... but good she has a nice new home!

yeah the pet store guy gave me the two leos for about 10$ and said that he didn't think that this one would live longer than 2 weeks it looked bad this one was the worst its tail was thinner than a pencil its just now starting to fatten up a little this was that was the first time i have seen leos here and haven't seen any since

it has a taste of dealing with death(the pet shop) but well thats sadly not unnormal same here in Germany.... it´s hard to decide to say NO to not support them but also say NO so the little gecko....

I know it saddens us to see animals that have not been properly cared for but let's keep harsh judgements to ourselves and try to be constructive. :main_thumbsup:

Troy, I'm glad you're doing what you should to stop the progression of the MBD. No doubt she'll live a much better and longer life with you.

I'm not trying to beharsh at all! Either way if the geckos was purchased recently or sometime in the past it needs something done and it sounds like you are trying your best. You can tell it has trouble getting around. I don't like seeing any animal in bad shape like that. Not everything in life is flowers blooms and sweet smells so you can't always treat everything as so. I wasn't trying to be mean, it just happens when i see animals like that.

I'm glad that you are taking care of the gecko and trying to get it in better shape. I hope that it survives for ya and gets fat and healthy. Sounds like it is doing alot better than it did when you got it.

I applaud you.. Not many people would buy a sick gecko and put the time in to nurse it back to health. Keep up the good work and doing what your doing. While her quality of life may not be the best, you are in fact making it better for her.:main_thumbsup:

Keep her in a basic setup. moist hide off the heat source. warm hide over the heat. gutloaded mealies- look at the sections here for gutloading. (I grind high quality dog food and mix with oatmeal and I use carrots or potatoes for a water source. change them every 2 days. Regular small calcium bowl. fresh water every day. I put a little dab of calcium right in the feeder bowl with the melaies. Sometimes I also place some fish flakes in the bowl to keep the mealies gutloaded. So you will have

2 hides
water bowl
food bowl
calcium bowl. They will lick the calcium right out of the bowl. I have seen my geckos do it many times.
