I can just about always tell easily whether a hatchling is a Mack snow or not, but this one has me a little confused. I recently hatched out a pair from snow blizzard x normal. Below is a picture of 3 hatchlings, all before the first shed. The one in the middle is definitely a snow (Mack snow x Mack snow) and is in the picture just for comparison (she hatched out 9/12). The other 2 are clutchmates from the cross mentioned above, hatched out 9/10 and 9/11. The one one the right, though very pale yellow (not premature, these guys were in the egg for nearly 9 weeks!) is definitely not a snow. The one on the left is the one in question. I really can't tell if it's a very pale non-snow, or a snow with that dirty white color that they sometimes get. None of these geckos has had a first shed yet.

Here's the picture of all three:

Here's a picture of the one on the right that is not a snow (it looks more yellow in this photo than it does in "real life"):

Here's the one in question:

The photos were taken outside on a cloudy morning. Let me know what you think.

though from mack snow x mack snow. 25% super snow 50% mack snow and 25% normal. and that one you said is normal, doesnt look normal. looks hypo.

Yes, I've gotten all three results this season from the mack snow x mack snow ("normal", snow and super snow). I just put that one in there for comparison since it's definitely a snow (and I listed its pedigree just to be informative). It's likely that the definite non-snow is a hypo since most of my geckos are. When I said "normal" I meant it as non-snow, not necessarily as non-hypo.

When the gecko in question hatched I was sure it was a snow but since then I've been going back and forth, though I lean towards it not being a snow because its legs are so yellow. If anyone did hatch out something this color that turned out to be a snow (i.e. from super snow x snow so there's no question) let me know.

I've got to go back to work now . . .
