Every leopard gecko will have a different personality, but there are a few general behavior aspects that show up more often in certain morphs over others.

Albinos are more sensitive to light, so they have a much higher chance of being really shy and will really only come out late at night.

Blizzards have a bit of a bad reputation. It seems that a large portion of them can be quite mean. I've heard alot of stories about blizzards that always hiss and growl at their owners regaurdless of age or care.

Personally I'm a big fan of the snows, generally it seems that they have a good temperment and they are quite popular right now, so you shouldn't have any trouble finding one from a breeder.

I don't have any experience with any of the 'designer' morphs, but my high yellow girl is a real sweetheart. Really, you can find a leopard gecko of any morph with a nice friendly personality, your best bet is just to talk to the breeders and ask them how that exact gecko responds to them. One thing that I've seen most people agree upon is that Giant leopard geckos are really laid back and calm. If you can find a giant of any of the morphs that you like, you may really want to consider it. Also, younger leos are usually much more skittish than adults, if you aren't up for a baby you can usually find someone selling retired breeders. The good thing about breeders is that they are handled alot and will usually be very laid back already.

Keep in mind that reguardless of the gecko's true personality, it will hide from you and be very skittish for awhile when you first recieve it. That's just the nature of any new reptile. It just takes a little bit of time and patience and before you know it your little gecko will come out to meet you everytime you approach the tank.

I'm not familar with any breeders in your area, that I'm aware of anyway lol. Most breeders will be willing to ship to you, if you're willing to pay shipping cost of course. I wasn't able to locate any reptile shows in Mississippi unfortunately, but perhaps one of the breeders here will be able to help you more with finding someone in your area. :main_thumbsup:

PS. You might want to check our classifieds as well, it seems there are quite a few breeders up for sell right now.

Have you considered getting one from a breeder from here? They can be shipped right to you. I LOVE my giants....not that I don't love all my geckos but my 3 giants seem to be the most laid back of all of the geckos. Our little albino is more reserved. Our male Blizzard ( Loki) is a wild child, lol. Our female blizzards is better but she doesn't love being held much either. Our mack snow male is a little sweet heart also. Best of luck picking out your new little guy.

I think I'll try & get a big snow gecko it sounds like it would b best 4 me. New Orleans isn't 2 far at all I used 2 go there all the time 2 go 2 Childrens Hospital till I got 2 old 2 go. I don't really no that much about shipping animals or how it works & I don't no if my family would go 4 shipping a animal or not.

I have had a few shipped to me and they arrived in very good shape. I understand though about shipping worries. I was a nervous wreck all night the night before my Blazing Blizzards got here. It happened to turn colder the night they had been shipped and I just knew they would be frozen to death when they got here. They arrived an hour before they were scheduled to and they were just fine. Best wishes in finding your knew babies. I like Mack Snows alot. We have 5 baby macks that I am taking to a show next month. I hate to part with them but that is part of breeding, lol. good luck.

Salome, you might try putting a wanted ad in the classifieds here. Check the seller's trader rating and ask them about their shipping policies, they should be happy to explain how they ship. Most reputable breeders will ship either FedEx or UPS Priority Overnight in an insulated box with a cold pack right now. Most of us have shipped hundreds of geckos without a problem.
