My leos are around 3 months and a little over 20 grams. I was asked to post pictures so you guys could help sex them because they were living together and it is possible for them to breed which would be unhealthy. So...I put up a tank divider in their 29 gallon tank. I really hated to do this because they seem to like each others company so well and it seems like they were looking for one another  . Sooo I would like to get them sexed so I can know for sure if this is completely necessary. I tried to take the clearest pictures possible.

Here are the geckos in question.

Here is the suspected female Gypsy (24 grams):

and here is the suspected male Ripsi 25 grams. (if found to be a definite male his name will be changed to Rip.)

Thanks so much! :main_yes:

She doesn't look like she's ovulating yet. Usually you can see a spot that looks like a pink pencil eraser right in the middle of their belly.

I've been brushing up on my sexing and that second one is definately a male due to the white substance you see in the pre-anal pores. The females can have pre-anal dimples and almost look male but the white substance in the middle of the pores is a dead giveaway!!!

Great pictures by BTW!!

They can also breed with low weights and around 6-8 months of age. I highly advise you not to at those ages and weights. You would put the health of your leopards at great risk and possible death. Weight should be 45+ grams.

Well, the age really doesn't matter, if a female is just 24 grams (as you stated in the original tread), she is definitely far to small for breeding purposes! I always wait until they're at least 40 grams.
