I'm going to be horrendously and bluntly honest here. If you did not realize that your first gecko was sick until people on the internet pointed it out, then you really have no business breeding leos. Please please PLEASE for the sake of these animals, take up another hobby. Like baseball cards.

Thank you. Learn to take care of them first, then start to think about breeding. You are setting yourself up for failure if you do not nail down basic husbandry first.

I don't think anyone one is blaming you for making it sick, the point is that you do not have the experience yet to determine what a healthy gecko looks like, and you need that sort of experience and more if you want to breed them successfully.

I agree, give it a year at least before breeding. This forum is great, stick around and you will learn tons of stuff about breeding and gecko care. If in one year's time you feel you have enough info under your belt and are still interested in breeding, start then.

according to the dates on the pics, the top picture is after the bottom picture. I think that your gecko is in trouble. for it to loose that much weight in only 1 month i would suspect that it has a parasite. If your gecko is eating and still loosing weight you better take the gecko to the vet before it dies. That gecko is in really bad shape. If you have any other reptiles do not and i repeat do not touch the other reptiles if you handel the sick leopard gecko cause you will end up with alot of sick reptiles. YOU REALLY NEED TO TAKE HER TO THE VET A.S.A.P. OR MSHE WILL DIE REALLY SOON. SHE IS IN BAD SHAPE.

I AGREE YOU SHOULD NOT BE BREEDING LEOPARD GECKOS. GET THE EXPERIENCE OF KEEPING THEM BEFORE YOU START TO BREED. aNOTHER THING IS THAT IF THE FIRST LEOPARD GECKO HAD A PARASITE THERE IS A VERY GOOD CHANCE THAT THOSE 2 MIGHT AS WELL IF THEY CAME FROM THE SAME PERSON. aLSO YOU SHOUL NEVER AND I REPEAT NEVER USE WOOD CHIPS LIKE YOUR USING AS A SUBSTRATE. PLEASE PLEASE DO WHAT IS RIGHT. DONT START BREEDING THOSE LEOPARD GECKOS. START GOING ON THE INTERNET AND START RESEARCHING THE CARE OF LEOPARD GECKOS, PLEASE. iF YOU CANT LOOK AT A LEOPARD GECKO AND TELL ITS SICK AND YOU DONT KNOW THAT YOU SHOULD NOT USE WOOD CHIPS IT MAKES ME WONDER WHAT DO YOU REALLY KNOW ABOUT THE CARE OF LEOPARD GECKOS. YOU DONT KNOW HOW TO TAKE CARE OF THEM BUT YOU WANT TO BREED. tO ME THAT IS SO WRONG, AND IT IS NOT RIGHT FOR THE LIZARD. iF YOU WERE TO BREED A UNDER WEIGHT LIKE THE FIRST GECKO YOU WOULD KILL IT. SO PLEASE IM BEGING YOU FOR THE HEALTH AND WELLBEING OF THOSE BEAUTIFUL GECKOS DO NOT PUT THEIR LIFE IN DANGER BY BREEDING. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE IM BEGING YOU ITS WRONG TO DO THAT TO AN ANIMAL EVEN IF ITS ONLY A GECKO ITS NOT RIGHT

Okay let's ignore the personal attacks for now, and start with this.

What is your husbandry like? Describe the enclosure you keep the gecko in.
~What kind of heat source are you using?
~What kinds of foods have you offered?
~What type of substrate are you using?
~How big is the cage?

You guys have to remember...we are all in this because we love reptiles. This person may not be up to date with leopard gecko knowledge, and that's what we are here for. Let's not "attack" newfieb for wanting to pursue the hobby...but rather encourage him or her to enjoy the hobby itself before the responisibility of breeding is taken.

Newfieb, please feel free to ask as many questions as you want. THere is no such thing as a stupid question. Actually, I lied. The only stupid question is the one that is not asked.
