I'll be leaving at some time late today on another trip down to the new house. This time, my mom is actually coming with me, thus we're bringing Jersey too. (I'm pretty sure Jersey would chew off all her arms & legs if she was without either of us for more than 30 seconds.) It's cool because I've wanted to show my mom my new house, but not until after I started moving in and making it "mine." I feel like a grown up. I don't really like it. Anyhow, it'll be fun being able to show Jersey her new bed and yard. Last time I was there I already set her 2nd set of food/water dishes out in the kitchen.
Brother Mike will be taking care of the geckos while we're gone, and yesterday he helped me start loading the trailer and I showed him what's what with the geckos (this changes on a daily basis.) FORTUNATELY, I talked the pet store into taking 48 leopard geckos yesterday. Originally they agreed to take 28, but the manager owes me more than a few favors, and they definitely had the room. Besides, if they have healthy, captive bred geckos in their cages, they don't have room to buy that w/c shit from wholesalers. ha ha. Just don't tell anyone I sold Mack Snows, SHTs, PAs, or nice dookies for $12. They usually give me $15, but I told them if they took the 28 I'd do $13.33, but I decided if they took 48 I'd do $12. Anyhow, it's just enough $ to buy the gas for one way of the trip. :main_rolleyes: At least now Mike will have enough rack space for the babies that hatch while I'm gone. We actually managed to empty three of the adult racks, so we're taking them with us. They fit in the trailer really well, which is good to know for when the remaining 17 racks have to go.
I have been brumating a lot of last year's holdbacks because I have a ton of females who were hovering at 30-40 grams ovulating. I've also been brumating my AFTs so that I can pair them up after I move, so I'm taking a bunch of geckos to finish out their brumation at the new house. This means about 100 less geckos to move on "the big trip." :main_thumbsup:
I'm just babbling because my back really hurts and I don't want to start packing up more shit yet.
It's a good thing that we don't have much to do outside the house on this trip, because the weather in Denton for the next 10 days doesn't look that accommodating. lol
I'm bringing the laptop just in case I can manage to steal the neighbor's wireless internet again, so if I get a chance I'll stop by to see what's up. I'm going to have Mike handle my email for me while I'm gone, because about 4,389 random people have been emailing me the most basic questions REPEATEDLY for the last few months. It's getting kind of annoying--especially when most of them are members here who could either look up the information, or just post a question. I don't get it. Oh well.
Okay I'm going to shut up now.
