Heterometrus spinifer popped!!!!

A scorp I picked up a few weeks ago finally popped! I was pretty sure she was gravid and proved me right this evening. So far there are 5 that I can see. I put a towel over her enclosure and will let her do her thing for a couple days before I get a total count. I'm about to seperate my Andros in my communal setuop due to aggresion, a 46 bowfront would look rocking as a rainforrest setup. Maybe Ill go see if they can get some more. Funny thing is they were labled "Eperor Scorpions", but are infact asian forrest scorpions... Yes, I also got my "leo in question" from them. No complaints here though, maybe theyll get some more as spinifers are a good amount more than the emperors.

A bad shot, but I didnt want to disturb mom as she was giving birth....

Her back is completley covered now I can see 18 and guessing around
20+ as I can't see her side. I didnt think the clutch would be that big..wooo! A scorp guru on another site thinks this may be a different sp. than spinifer, which would be pretty cool, seeing as that would potentially make it even less common to have lt alone get babies from. More pics when the babies hit second instar.

Wow, usually the scorps I have stay hidden for a week or so, this gal is already taking the kids for a stroll. There are way more than i though, I counted 26....

They just got done with their second molt and can hunt now...

I also now am thinking this is not H. spinifer. So they are back to Heterometrus sp. for now. 33 made it to the second molt, not bad.
