Someone asked in a recent thread how you can tell who has laid the eggs if you have multiple females in the same enclosure. At the time I gave some response that I watch the females carefully so I always know. Wouldn't you know that I"d get proven wrong just after that. I have a colony of 2 stripe females, one of which is het for albino and a PRS male het for albino. I've been expecting Topaz's (non albino het) eggs to hatch this weekend and this morning there was a hatchling --albino! I guess I got the eggs mixed up.

in my thoughts
usually if I mixed up the eggs, I can kinda compare the eggs to the previous females eggs. some females eggs are small and round while others are long and oval so with the different looks I kinda get the things straightened out :)

Now that I house all my geckos individually, I don't have this issue.. but there was a time that I housed my geckos in colonies. I ALWAYS knew who laid the eggs in the moist hide. Always! I could tell when one of the girls was going to lay, and if I had a 'skinny' girl and eggs in the container, well, then they came from her.

I know this sounds smug, and I'm not trying to be holier-than-thou, so I apologize in advance it it seems this way. But, I must admit, that I had a pair of patties hatch from a SHTCTB clutch once. So much for being OCD...
