please excuse my rant, but I just can't help but express my complete heartbreak and disappointment from my enigma projects. By NO means do I mean to bash the morph, or point any negativity to them, I'm just discussing my personal experiences... rant on:

I purchased two enigmas last season, both born in early January....

Well, one I bred late last year and he produced one tremper enigma female... that is all I got from the entire project. that is it, one tremper enigma... a beautiful girl at that, though.

and two... I just recently confirmed that my 80 gram male bell enigma from bold stripe bell lines.... IS STERILE. Yes, that's the truth... and my goodness, am I just completely heart broken over it. :( I've been looking forward to this project for so long...

I was working on a bold stripe bell enigma project, and one of the females is a proven breeder from last season... I've had 3 clutches, 1 that has gone full term only to be no good, with all the others being completely infertile... she is going on clutch 4 currently after re-breeding. I also bred him to another female, only to get slugs.

blah blah blah, I know this is just part of it all... and nothing is ever certain with live animals, I know that... but I just need some time to be upset. Plus, with us only having two enigma males, and things turning out like this for me on top of what the market is doing... that is almost just too much for me, the taste in my mouth is just too sour.

Anyway... end rant.

Thanks for reading. :main_no:

Here is a pic of my STUNNING Taz, the bold bell enigma... about 45 grams or so here.

I'm very sorry to hear that, Brittney.

I'm beginning to worry that my bell enigma is sterile. He was bred to my female thrice and she just laid infertile eggs.. :(

I'm so sorry. That must be heartbreaking for you. I have a female that hasn't ovulated that I've seen (last year or this year yet). It's horrible when you plan and get excited and nothing happens.

Sorry your projects aren't working out the way you'd like. It happens to all of us at some point or another!

I wouldn't consider your male sterile just because you haven't gotten fertile eggs yet. Unless the vet has found some medical reason to prove that he's sterile you may be jumping the gun.

Several of our proven females are reabsorbing follicles or laying slugs after they were bred to 2 of our proven males this year. I know the males aren't sterile because they produced for us last year.

I know it's frustrating but in this hobby luck has a lot to do with things.

Hey Mel,

thanks for the encouragment... lets hope that you are right here... if this continues to happen I'm going to have him examined by a vet to make sure everything else is ok with him. lets keep our fingers crossed that it's just really realllly bad luck. ;)
