How do I get her to STOP?

I have a poor little female that we bred to our male mack snow once ( we then seperated her to her own tank). Off of that breeding she laid 16 eggs and out of those 15 hatched. Now she has laid 7 slugs. She has went from 78 grams to 62. I took a fecal sample to the vet and she checked out clean. The vet gave me liquid calcium for her and put her on a multi vitamin twice a week. I don't think that her tail is fat enough to cool her yet. Is there any way to get her to stop laying? This is the first year thatshe has bred and her LAST. I feel aweful that she seems to be a little egg machine.

Not too bad, it should`nt hurt her. I have had a first timer lay 11 1/2 CLUTCHES. Yes 23 eggs! She will probably stop soon on her own. Is the time between eggs slowing down at least?

You can try putting her where it will be cooler, and continue to feed her. I would not completely "cool" her, but a change in temp might help. Maybe you have a spot near the floor, or on the bottom shelf of a rack?

It is normal for them to loose a little weight during breeding/laying. They gain it back pretty quickly once they are done. I hear feeding the high calcium food sources like hornworms and silkworms, does a lot to put on weight quick after breeding, or even prevent the weight loss.

Our geckos are gaining GRAMS for each large-ish hornworm they are eating. Some of mine went from being on the thin side, to being darn near fat, in only two weeks.

It's not a guarantee that she will be an egg machine each year. I had one that laid 20 eggs her first year, all of which hatched. The next year she laid maybe close to the same number and 13 hatched. This year she's laid about 8 eggs, none of which hatched except for one today (with the clutchmate due soon).

Thanks. I will move her to our spare quarentine tank which is cooler then the other tank. I bought her hornworms and silks at the show on Sunday. She has had a rather rough year ( broken leg and sternum injury at vets)and I think I just worry about her more. She did seem to really go after both the hornworms and the silks. I also got some phoenix worms but she wasn't as interested in those.
