How do I tell when my crestie is about to shed?

I’ve had Greg for 2 months on the dot starting tomorrow, and I’ve never noticed him being more pale or anything and only know of one shed, i wouldn’t have ever noticed it if the vet didn’t point it out. Plus one of his toes got slightly traumatized by his past owners and I don’t want it to get stuck on his toes again, so here I am.

Sometimes your gecko can shed overnight and you'll never know. Other times the gecko gets frosty and you can sometimes catch it mid-shed. Just keep an eye on the tail tip and feet and if you see bits of shed hanging there, peel them off.

Yeah, I checked this morning but no shed on his toes, I’ll check every few days he seems a little more pale now, but that might’ve been because he was fired down when I woke him up to check.

It's harder to tell with cresties and gargs because they have the fired up/down aspect that leopard geckos don't have. One advantage of having a lot of geckos is that I don't worry so much about shedding or most other issues until I notice something. I get to check everyone over on feeding days, so they are monitored,
