How do you feed yours?

When it comes to feeding, how do you go about it?

I have to show mine the bowl of mealworms or drop one in front of her, she won't eat them from the bowl without encouragement.

With crickets I try to drop them in front of her but they normally get away!

How does everyone else do it?

Also, I work shifts at work and if she needs feeding before I go to work in the evening, im sort of forced to encourage her out if she's sitting in her moist hide half asleep so she can eat.

Thanks for any replies

Mine pretty much know "well atleast I think they know" that when I open the lid to their tubs that it is feeding time. Anymore I have some that eat the mealworms just as fast as I put them in their bowl. And they arent underfed. I feed mine everynight to every other night. Usually around 15 to 20 large sized mealworms at a time.

For most of my adult geckos who eat crickets, I remove the cage furniture, drop in the crickets and after about 10 minutes, I replace the cage furniture. THis makes it easier for them to find the crickets. I do have 2 adults who don't do well hunting on their own and they come to the front of the tank on feeding day and wait as I hand them each crickets. They just walk away when they're done, or at least the female walks away. The male I think will stay and eat crickets all day. The babies eat mealworms and while most of them are independent getting them out of the dish, I do have some slow starters that either get their mealworms handed to them, placed on the floor of the cage, or I have to hold them and push mealworms against their mouths. None of the last kind right now, thankfully.

I feed every evening and by the time I come into the room, all of the geckos are waiting for me. I drop one super worm, sometimes two, in front of them and make sure they eat them and that's it :) The really little ones eat mealworms.

My geckos are used to the feeding time routine. I come into the room with the mealworms, get the dusting cup and put whatever is being used that day in it, and as soon as I start shaking worms in it all around the room geckos are coming out of their hides waiting by the food bowls. Some eat them as fast as I can drop them, others take their time. But by the next morning all the worms are gone. I have one group that gets overly aggressive during feeding and I have to take the male out and feed him separate, but otherwise they do all the work them selves, no tempting necessary. Just out of curiosity what are your temps like? That might cause your leo not to want to come out and eat.

I feed my gecko mealies. After I dust the worm, I throw it in front or inside it's cave. Then it wakes up and eats it. Before my gecko got used to eating 2 - 3 worms a day, it sometimes eats 6 worms then the next day 2 and then 5 then none for a whole day. Very inconsistent. I don't have a feeding bowl for my gecko because my friend told me that the worms get loose and start walking around the cage. Then when they die, the smll really bad and attract flies.

since my leos are still growing, they have mealworms all the time in their food dish, and they know where to find it so they eat whenever they are hungry. i feed them only mealworms btw.
