I put the male (of every sp. I keep) into the cage of the female do to the usual tendency of males to be more dominant and territorial...

Female in male's cage. That way hes like "Oh, whats this?" something new is in my enclosure! And that way, the female is too busy looking around to pay attention to his "sneak attack" or "backrub" or whatever you want to call it ;)

Altho I have put males in females enclosures and got the same results, maybe i'm insane? :)

LOL! I usually put the male in the females tub and wait until they do the deed.
The other day I did this and in the middle of "courting" , the male noticed a supperworm in the females dish and darted for it. After eating all her worms he went back to finish the deed! :main_rolleyes:

I like to put the male in the female's enclousure, because yes, he looks around for about a second, but when he catches sight of the female, he gets the job done=). But when I put the female in the male's enclousure, she would whip him with her tail, pretty much saying "Not in the mood."

We actually keep most of our breeders together all of the time, year around, in harems. The only time we seperate them is when we no longer want them breeding, or if there are any problems. For instance, our Mack Snow Patternless group is much happier being seperated, while our other groups do perfectly fine living together.

Like others, I like to house my breeding Leopard Geckos individually and not house them in colonies because it is easier to keep track of everything.
