Hey Everyone,

I've been trying different set ups for my photography, just wondering what has worked the best for you.

I'm interested in finding a 'light box' type of set up for my leopard geckos, anyone have anything they could suggest I try out?

thanks so much!

Here's our incredibly sophisticated set up:

(the lamp just happens to be clamped on the table, I don't use it for photos, lol)

I tried building a light box and using lights but I prefer to just open the blinds.

I agree-I have a cheap light tent/box -I find that I don't use it that often
I much prefer making use of the light coming in from a window than using any artificial lighting

I am still working on camera setting and trying to keep the geckos from wandering off of the table top-that is why I usually end up using a sweater box to take their pics in-LOL

It gets a tad too challenenging for me to try and keep the gecko on the table and aim the camera at the same time

we use a small picture studio type setup.. it's essentially a small fabric surrounded square with photo lights on the outside and white fabric all around. It eliminates shadow, glare, etc. Although I haven't actually used it yet.

My mother got it from a camera store to use for her antique business and found out it was too small for her use.. so i inherited it..

before that we used a similar setup to to lady gecko's just with Black colors to make their colors pop a bit more..

LOL-that's Mel's set-up

Her pic showed up to when I used the quote function

I do use 2 white pieces of cabinet material that are joined together with 2 hinges

Shhhhh...don't tell anyone-but I found it out with someone's garbage one day and I put it on my bike and took it home-LOL

I like the light tent that I have but I hate messing with the lights-they're so hot

Natural light makes for the best pics but I often don't get around to taking pics until night

I taped computer paper to the inside of a cardboard box [ghetto, I know], and I ordered a custom aquarium light, and I light from above. The paper acts as a reflector. I cant photograph albinos, but I dont have much in the way of harsh shadows!

haha, Thanks Tamara. That actually sounds a whole lot like what I've got right now. I love cheap ghetto stuff that works! ;)

I have a cardboard box that I put poster board in, and I use natural lighting the best I can. Maybe I'll consider getting a nice fluorescent light or two. :)

Thank you everyone for your responses!
