How long till they are acclimated for breeding?

I recently purchased a male and three female leopards. They have been in the tank for three days. They all four sleep together under the same large hide. Is there a certain time period that the geckos need to get used to each other? Should I expect to wait till next year before any eggs?

You should quarantine them first to ensure they are all healthy. Once they have been quarantined then you can introduce them. You have to be sure that the female is ovulating or nothing will happen regardless of time together. How big are the geckos?

They are all from the same breeder. I don't have a scale but comparing them to other adult size leopards they are equal. By adult size I'm not referring to giant/supers. They have bred before I received them. I'm just curious if there is an acclimation period.

I find it's usually just the opposite: my geckos that have been together in breeding groups since Jan. are no longer mating. HOwever, if I put a new female in the enclosure, the male will get interested right away. The fact that you haven't seen them breeding may mean one of the following:

--they are doing it when you're not watching (I had one very successful male that I didn't actually see breeding for 2 seasons, but fertile eggs hatched)
--they have been together and are "tired" of each other and will not breed this season
--the females are not ovulating because breeding season is over for them; the male has tried and was rejected by the females.

Good luck,

Aliza
