I talk to both of mine all the time. Well talk to Mikko and scold Dante, because he's just bad alot of the time. Especially with his latest "oh the bathroom paper towel isn't 100% clean, so I'll poop on the side of the water dish" move >.<
our geckos are downstairs, so whenever I'm down there (which I go down there quite often), I stop by their cage and talk to them.
I, too, baby talk to them. I cannot help it.
And my new girl that's going to be here next week?
I'm STILL working on my husband to let me set her upstairs with me.
She's going to be SPOILED. Well, as much as you can spoil a gecko, I guess.:main_laugh:
I have entire conversations with them. I ask them about their day, try to get help with my math from them, ask them if what I'm wearing makes me look fat...
I usually only talk to them when they do something like jump out of my hand and splat on the floor, Then I ask them "How's that workin for you". (Dr. Phil)
One of my large tanks (40 gal) is sitting RIGHT next to my bed, where I'll sit up and read a lot. Typically, my female jungle, Socks, always comes up to where I am and "glass dances", and when she's not doing that she's just staring at me...so I talk to her a LOT. I scold several of mine as well too, mostly Cascade because she is just down right hateful to everyone, except for ONE male that I have. lol!
Haha! I talk to Puzzle all the time. His cage is in the bedroom, so every time I go in there I stop by and talk to him. Most of the time it's me waking him up and he kinda looks at me with one eye like.."stfu and let me sleep, woman!"
I to talk to mine, and of course baby talk them to no end as well. Their tanks are in the computer room, so if I'm home I'm usually up in that room. Nice to know I'm not the only one. lol. Since my husband looks at me like I'm a nut when I do it.
Yep, guilty! I talk to Gretchen all the time. I congratulate her on catching her dinner, tell her how nice her poop is -- all those wonderful things that would normally justify putting someone in a padded room!:help:
And I believe she recognizes my voice (at least as it is associated with food). Now when I start calling her, she will come out looking for food, even sometimes during the day. When I first got her, she responded that way to the males in my house (The breeder I got her from was male) - now she doesn't pay them any attention:main_evilgrin: (although I have caught my hubby trying...)
I can easily admit that I have whole conversations with Dusty, Amber, Lyra, and Nactra, though the weird thing is that Lyra will give me this weird glare if I say something too weird...I think that if you counted up my conversations with the reptiles and with human beings, reptiles will win hands down.
i talk to my male pretty often. however whenever i say anything at all to my female its like she goes skydiving from my hand so i have learned to hold her close to the ground. and i dont talk to her because she HATES when i do.
