Besides talking to them, I also try to get them "say mama"...I pick them up and look at them right in the face, then say "MA-MA-", I keep saying until they flick their tongue, then I assume they're saying it in their minds...its fun...lol.

LOL Bonnie, that got me laughing right in my chair xD.
To be honest Emily, I still think my conversations with Leos would win even if texting counted...I haven't texted anything at all in my life =P

My roommate makes fun of me because i always walk into my bedroom and say hi to Newton and ak her if he is hungry. I know it doesn't mean anything, but i like the idea that Newton and i are friends and we chat

I never talk to my geckos. Getting attached to them would be the worst thing, I would never be able to sell them, nor would I be able to accept if any of them died.

Guilty as most people. I tell mine to get their sleep on when I go off to work. I praise them when they eat (especially the ones who go on hunger strikes during ovulation), and scold them when they try to be daredevils. I think it's more a verbalization of my own thoughts because I know they don't understand. It's better than saying I talk to myself...after all, I don't even listen to me.

I talk to Dexter constantly. Sometimes he looks up at me and watches my lips move, like he's curious.:daisy:

The only time Ares answers back is when I am trying to pick him up or hold him and he doesn't like the position I am holding him in. In which case he will let me know, by making his oh so cute gurgling sound.

All the time..I keep telling them to eat, before they starve to death. I feed both Gecko's but they don't want to eat the worms I feed. I say you better eat your worms, or you are going to get sick, eat, eat. Though they still won't eat much. I figure if I keep telling them to eat they will but lately they just don't want to eat anything I feed them. I say you are going to the vet if you don't start eating, you need to gain some Gecko weight. So they are both going to the Vet, since they wont listen to me and eat.

LOL I even baby talk my eggs...I tell them how pround I'm going to be of them when they come out and how I love them and can't wait to see them! I do this in hopes that they hatch sooner and happier. lol since I've been doing this they've seemed calmer as hatchlings....who knows

Just minutes ago i was cheering on my hypo male that was gettin some. The pair are the only ones i keep in a tank next to the computer. And when doing my daily checks in the breeders room they all get greeted. Some of my babys climb right onto my hand at just a couple weeks of age. No diff. from my dog or cat, do you talk to them?
