So in an effort to try and better monitor Tiamat's meals - she's a picky and very slow eater - I thought I would try to get her to feed from a bowl instead of me picking on her and harrassing her until she eats at her normal dinner time (every other day). I figure stressing her out about it isn't the way to go, but I'm just wondering;

currently I have a bowl of calcium without D3 in her tank and a water bowl. Should I put her worms in this bowl? Or should I put them in a separate bowl without calcium, with calcium, with calcium with D3 and a have one week in the month where it has vitamin dust instead of calcium? (By herself she'll only eat two-three times a week anyway).

I don't know what her problem is but she's becoming increasingly harder to feed. After a few minutes of chasing her with a worm around the tank she'll eventually see it and eat it. Before then she'll completely ignore it. Chasing her doesn't really seem to stress her out that much as she not doesn't really run from me, she just kinda meanders away from me and tries to find a hiding spot. She also sleeps a lot and likes to stay on the colder side of the tank most of the time, which is probably one reason why she isn't hungry very often. Although her poops look normal for the most part - maybe a bit runny.

ANYWAY, please HALP!

I had the same problem a few months ago, and I couldn't figure out what was wrong until...I suddenly woke up around 4 in the morning one morning, it was pitch black, and all I could hear was "crunch, scratch scatch, crunch..." I began to realize that they will only eat in the wee small hours of the morning, when it's dark & everyone's sleeping...

Leave a bowl similar to this http://www.terrificpets.com/pet_supplies/reptile/food-water-dishes/dish/7176.asp in her tank 24/7 with a little bit of calcium & some mealies...count how many you put in there before you go to sleep & she might eat while you're sleeping.

What I do is keep calcium w/D3, calcium, and herptivite is 3 seperate bowls (glass ashtrays) and rotate them when its time for that supplement (monday, tuesday and wednesday are calcium, thursday and friday herptivite, and saturday and sunday are calcium w/ D3. My leo is fine with eating during the day though.

I put a bowl with a small amount of calcium d3 and some meal worms in her tank. She has yet to touch it, but it's only been a few days.

What I really want to know is why she is always on the cool side of the tank. When I pick her up she's usually really cold. It's not wonder she doesn't have much of an appetite. When I take her out to get some exercise though she's pretty active. Do some geckos just like the cold?

It may be that the hot side is *too* hot for her. Do you have a good probe thermometer measuring the temps over there?

I have an exo-terra brand digital thermometer with probe and a thermostat with probe. They're both in the warm hide which is currently reading 93 degrees. It usually goes up and down between 93-95 during the day. I can't seem to get it to stay in one spot. But if it goes above 95 degrees she won't stay on the warm side at all. When it's about 93-95 I will sometimes catch her in the warm hide or moist hide, but like I said, 9 out of 10 times she's in her cool hide.

This is what I do, I place calcium without D3 in a dish. Usually a large amount. From there I take some calcium with D3 and some reptivite and mix it in with the calcium without the D3.

I might have to do that since her eating habits are weird and I'm not sure if she's getting enough vitamins. :\ Thank you for the advice. :>
