How should I feed my baby Kenyan Sand Boa??

I tried to just place a brained pinky in front of my baby KSB, and the snake went into threat posture of jerking its body around with its head hidden and the tail up. I will try again later with forceps, holding the pinky above the snake's head. If that fails, I will put the KSB in a deli cup with the pinky overnihgt. If that doesn't work, I'll scent the pinky with chicken broth. If not, I'm screwed, because I hate feeding live :main_thumbsdown:

Also note that the breeder insisted several times that all their KSB are eating frozen. That's the only reason I bought mine. I really reeeaally don't wanna feed live :main_no:

Any suggestions?...

I had a hard time getting mine to eat. I had to either feed live pinkies or make the f/t really hot. I left mine in dark plastic containers overnight, and 2 of the three eventually caught on.

All three of mine died though. The one who ate weekly after the first few weeks of refusing everything, was growing and getting big, died out of the blue. I probably won't get any other KSBs. I regret not getting the 0.1 anery rosy boa (from a different breeder) when I bought the 1.2 KSB instead; it was the same price for the 1 rosy as the 3 KSBs, but basically, I thought I was getting a better deal with the trio. Boy was I wrong... :-( Paid the money and don't have the snakes to prove it, all died; and the breeder was rude, gave me the 'too bad, they were fine here' spill.
Sorry for the rant.

A pinky pump probably isn't the best idea, those are usually for more urgent cases where they need nutrients right then. It's not best for getting something to naturally eat.

Another idea aside from the ones you've mentioned is to scent the pinkie with the sound of a lizard, usually an anole, so I'm not sure if others will work. Hopefully that helps, good luck.

My ksb wouldn't eat for the longest time. And I tried doing it how this video showed and it worked the very first time.

I tried the deli cup thing and the paper bag over night, never worked for me. But soon as I saw this video I went and tried it and it worked just like that. And after her not eating for 3 months, she ate 2 pinkies that night. And I dont really like feeding live too, but mine went for the f/t one when I tried it like this.
