I've just joined today! lol
The beginning of this week I saw a picture of a friends Leo and told him I had lizard envy, since my roommate/sister told me last year I couldn't get a Bearded Dragon because she doesn't like bugs. So my 'helpful' friend told me about Crested Geckos.
I've been studying their care and I really, REALLY, want one now. lol

I'm looking to set up a 20gal Long fish tank, placed on it's side to give it more height, and getting an adult or subadult Crested Gecko.

I'm still in the learning faze, so any advise or tips would be great!

Welcome to GF. I have one crested gecko but found out that I prefer gargoyles. I hope you get what you want soon.

Thank you so much for the best wishes! As soon as I get a new job I'll be looking at buying a setup for a crested gecko.
May I ask why you like Gargs better? Is it looks, temperament, care? I'm not, really, trying to be nosy but I am curious.

I don't think it's entirely rational. Probably mostly looks. I fell in love with the gray and orange look of gargs that aren't fired up. I saw some at a reptile show and was head over heels. I have a crestie who's a nice looking guy, brown with some dalmation spots and other interesting earth tones. When I read crestie forums and they all talk about their "creams" and "flames" and "harlequins" I look at the pictures and they all just look BROWN. I'm more into orange. That's probably most of my reason. I don't mind you asking at all; I love to talk about my geckos.

If you can't do bugs them I don't know if any reptile would work. Yes cresties can supliment with CGD, but they still need bugs. Mine wont even touch CGD. I have to give them crickets. But this may just be me.
