I was wondering what you guys/gals use for your humid hides? Im currently using a plastic container that is larger than a butter tub and it doesn't stay humid for very long.Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!!:) :)

I use deli cups for my smaller leos and the Gladware-type containers for my larger ones. I usually have to mist them once every day to every other day.

Re: glass

I use a dark blue glass vase that is sitting sideways. I bought it at a dollar store; I found it where the candles were. And I use a type of plantation soil or moss sometimes. Moist it every other day and it works well.

I use tupaware type containers with peat moss in them. I spray mist in the containers which creates good humidity.

I use the Ziplock sandwhich box with the front side cut open and stuff it with moist peat moss that I mist once a day.

I went the more expensive route and got a couple of those Large Zoo Med
Repti Shelter 3-in-1 Caves for my girls and I'm gonna try the moist paper towels first, and if that doesn't work well I'll probably try some sphagnum moss or peat moss.

I don't have my girls yet, they'll be here on Tuesday ^^

I went the same route as stangWolf i got 2/ 3 in 1 caves with moist coconut husk, works excellent!! It costs alot more then a butter or cool whip container, but i prefer a more natural setting, more pleasing to the eye and just as functional.

I use a glad reusable container filled about a third full with wet substrate. I have it placed over a small UTH. My thinking is that the heater will cause the water in the substrate to evaporate and humidify the container. I usually have to soak the substrate about every third feeding. I also placed the hole in the side of the container to minimize moisture loss.

Another plus are the drops form on the side of the container which, I believe, the geckos drink.

I couldn't eat enough cool whip in my life time, so I clear out Walmert of the cheap food containers when I go there.

Paper towels for some and spagnum peat moss with some bed a beast(coco fiber) mixed it for others(80% peatmoss atleast). The bed a beast holds moisture quite well and keeps the peat moss from clumping so badly when rehydrated.
