how high is high and is that bad?? Our vet didn't seem to think it would be problem.
Ours is high right now too because we have a evaporative (swamp) cooler... the only way I know to change that would be to get a dehumidifyer for the room she/he is in....
A really high humidity (70%+) for extended periods of time is bad because it can lead to respitory problems in leos, your vet was wrong. If you have a lid that isn't a screen remove it and replace with a screen top. What is the humidity like in your house? If it stays high you will have to use a dehumidifier for that room. Also what are you using to measure humidity in your tank?
We have a screen lid.... she is in the farthest room from the cooler... there is a temp gage on the side of her tank... I think it sits around 60-70% most of the time right now.
The humidity in my house sits around 60-70% even with my central air set at 72. I even tried setting my central air to 70 degrees and my humidity gauge barely moved. I ended up having to buy a dehumidifier, I can set the humidity wherever I want it. Just make sure if you get one, put it on the opposite side of the room so its not blowing air on the tank. I was lucky to find mine online on sale pretty cheap. Good luck!
