Finally got some pictures of Sohalia.
This one is without a light over the tank
DSCN0163.jpg

See the yellow?
Now with the light shining on the cage
DSCN0154.jpg

A lot less yellow- this is more true to colour than the first- at least to the naked eye. Oh yeah and the red eye showed up in this pic.

This baby has so much attitude! The first time I tried to take her/his picture, she tried to bite my camera!
Sohalia means "moon glow"-very fitting.

I've only seen pictures of the macks, so I'm not 100% positive, but it looks like the pictures of babies that are on this site.

I'm going to get some pictures when I go into work on Monday. I'm hoping I'm not completely wrong and it's just a very light normal.

Super or just normal mack?

And where from?

lol I'll work on getting some updated pics later when I get back from shopping.

They have been slow growers (almost lost the smaller of the two).

They still have solid red eyes!! :D

I am however convinced they are BBs.

Do you know genders?
What are you going to test breed them to?
did they yellow up any? (if they are still 100% lacking yellow could they be SSPA or SSBB?)

Dont fully "eclipsed" blizzard eyes usually turn into snake eyes over time though? Im still not convinced that they are BBs until you breed them to BB or het BB and hatch out BBs :p

Im holding fast to my SS theory lol :main_rolleyes:

I usually of late have only had time to lurk, but I've read this thread with growing incredulity. Am I the only one who came to the following conclusions on the first page?

First-The very first thing i thought when I saw those little guys was-very young hatchling Blazing Blizzards ( By thge way-WAY too young to ship to the pet store-y'all ar right about that!). To me, the later pics showing yellow makes this all the more likely.

Those who thought they were albino SS-what were you smoking? Can I have some? Where would the bright red eyes come from?

Ron Tremper supplies Petsmart. And he's far too intelligent to send them DBs accidently-I'm sure all THOSE are sequestered in a special room with security system :p

Those are 99% probably Blazing Blizzards-they will eventually lose the red eyes. Still a GREAT find-congratulations!

Definitely NOT Diablos, but 1% possible-if they keep the red eyes-Super Snow Raptors. But if Mark Bell let go of any of those I'll be quite sarcastic next time I see him (Especially since I'm reasonably certain only one other person has hatched one of thoise besides Ron Tremper-and it isn't Mark):main_huh:

SS Albino's eye would indeed look as they do.

However if you noticed this thread is almost 7 months old and their eyes have not changed. I'll try to get some eye pics but they have been hard to get as these two keep closing their eyes.

First, look at the eyes in the other thread about mack SS-they have a slight pinkish tint, but do not look red to me.

Blazing Blizzards can keep the red eyes for many months-in fact when they were first produce they actually had time to run an ad in Reptiles Magazine in which adult leopards pictures were given bright red eyes in an attempt to picture what adult Blazings would look like-since no adults existed at the time. Very embarassing when it was realized the eyes changed color at adulthood:main_laugh: I still; believe those are Blazing Blizzards. If they go over a year in age then I'll throw in the towel.

This is what I was replying to in my first reply to you.

Also most people here knew I was waiting on eggs from a Mack het Bell x Mack het Bell pairing, so yes they could have very well have been SS Bell Albinos in some people's minds.

Which thread are you refering to where they had pink eyes?

Ok, here's the little one that I almost lost. The larger one is being pissy cause she's in shed and wasn't too happy with the camera. Because of this ones strugles I doubt I will ever breed her, she's just too small. So we may never know what she really is, even if I do prove out the other female, who's to say they are the same.

And for giggles here's one of my adult proven breeder Blizards that has two not so perfectly solid black eyes, but still not a snake eye, IMO.

I was referring to the thread by Albey a couple of lines down in "Morphs and Genetics".

I do apologize for the crack about the red eyes-of course albino SS may start out with red eyes, which they soon lose. So I was being ambiguous.

The odds of TWO solid eyed blazings turning up in a pet store for like $10 each seems a little far fetched to me. And since we have established that Mark Bell supplies that store they are either trempers or Bells. Since they have not lost any red eye color, I would assume that they are not tremper blazings. So if they are blazings they would most likely be bells. And even that is far fetched. But maybe the bell albino gene makes the blizzard "eclipse" gene happen more often? But if so that would mean that the Bells are wholesaling something very rare, which I doubt they would do. Which leads me right back to my stubborn argument that they get their eyes from the mack gene, and the body pattern is either stopped by the blizzard gene or the patternless gene. But then they are yellowish... IDK... How long till you can test breed the healthy one, and what will you breed her to?
