It eally stinks to wake up to massive flooding...
Its been an eventful week in NYC... Earth quake and a hurricane... We are pretty used to criminal elements, horns, sirens, traffic, and bad drivers, LOL, but we hardly ever get to see mother nature at her strongest...

After pumping thousands of gallons of water out of my yard and a couple of inches out of my kitchen, I walked down the street with camera in hand...

The block next to mine...

Three blocks over... Yes, that is someone fishing in the middle of the street and he was actually catching stuff...

Its not every day you see a boat infront of a church...

I dont think he has to worry about anyone stealing it for a while...

wow that is a lot of flooding. Down in Florida we are used to Hurricanes and Tropical Storms but northern states aren't as equipped. I hope the flooding starts to go down soon for you.

Whew! Glad it wasn't worse for you! Hopefully things will start to get back to normal up there soon.

If there's any silver lining in this cloud, it's good that the storm didn't come the weekend before, when you and many others were at the Daytona show.

I hope you don't have too much damage and that things get back to normal soon.

I'm pretty sure it's nature trying to kill Rex Ryan and not caring about any collateral damage done in the process. The quake and the storm were kind of done by the time they got here to Boston. We had some heavy rain and a lot of downed tree branches, but nothing widespread like that.

Obviously you've got power and internet access. Did they go down at all? I do have one buddy living on a small peninsula in one of the Boston suburbs who's still without, because the down line only services six houses and is low priority. Have the sewers caught up to the volume of water and cleared the flooded streets yet or are they still submerged?

Suprisingly, power stayed on for most of the storm... There were a couple of instances where power would go down for an hour and come back on... Believe it or not, I was more worried about the power going our and shutting down my incubators more than getting some water in my house...

The sewers are clear and the large majority of the water is gone... There are still a few spots where it is still pretty deep... Mostly just areas that do not have drainage... There was no real damage to my house but some a lot of the folks in my area did not fare so well... No structual damage that I have heard about at all... Mostly cosmetic...

The good thing for me is that I am in home improvement and construction... There will be many insurance claims and work for the next few months...
